Define Trace Data

Purpose and features

This feature enables you to display a detailed trace of events and a dump of data being transferred between the server and clients. Primarily you’d use this for troubleshooting connection problems and, if necessary, displaying the actual of server-client messages. The results of the trace are sent to the console (if running in console mode) and to the log file if one is specified. Note that if individual Port definitions contain a log file, then this one is used instead for traffic/debug messages associated with the particular port.

If logging is on and network traffic is being logged, the performance of FreeProxy is significantly affected.

From V3.00 onwards, detailed program logging has been removed for performance reasons. A debug version is available if necessary. Please contact the support email.

Trace information will be created automatically if none is specified. The default is "No trace".
